The snowbirds have officially flown the coop — and if you’ve lived here long enough, you know exactly what that means.
You notice it right away.
The traffic lightens. Your favorite spots are easier to get into. And yes — you can finally get a tee time without treating it like a military operation.
For a few weeks, Arizona feels oddly manageable.
It’s warm, but not yet ridiculous. You can still sit outside in the morning, turn on the oven without questioning your judgment, and make plans that don’t begin with, “What time does the sun go down?”
So we take advantage of it.
A little golf. Something good for breakfast. Dinner outside while we still can.
Because we know what’s coming.
A Simple Way to Start the Day
Mornings are still nice this time of year, so we take advantage of them.
Coffee outside. Something homemade. Maybe nowhere we need to be for another hour.
Nothing fancy. Just a good way to start the day before Arizona reminds us what’s coming.
Bake Something (While It Still Sounds Like a Good Idea)
This is the time of year when turning on the oven still seems like a perfectly reasonable idea.
That won’t last long.
So while we can, I’m making the things we’ll miss when summer really settles in — muffins, brunch cakes, anything that makes the kitchen smell good before 9 a.m.
A good muffin pan helps. So does something pretty to serve it on.

And Yes… The Tee Times Are Back
Let’s be honest — this might be the best part.
No alarms set weeks in advance. No refreshing booking screens. No taking whatever tee time happens to be left.
You pick a time and go.
The mornings are still beautiful, the courses are quieter, and golf feels a whole lot more civilized again.
For a few glorious weeks, anyway.
In Closing
We know this little window won’t last.
Soon the mornings will be hotter, the patio will be quieter, and every plan will involve some version of, “How early can we go?”
But right now, Arizona is pretty darn nice.
So we’re taking advantage of it.
Coffee outside. A little golf. Dinner on the patio.
